The Chef....

The other afternoon Audra got a bee in her bonnet that she should be able to make her little sister's food 'cause she is the BIG sister. So for supper that night, she did just that. On the menu was her specialty....peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids, and for the adults egg salad sandwiches. I think Audra could live on bread, peanut butter and jelly alone! She decided it was ALOT of work making supper, mom could do it next time. Thanks.

Pumpkin Patch...

The Gang

It's that time of year again...all over the world wide web, cute pictures of kiddos in a pumpkin patch. We thought we should add some more to the mix!!

We caught up with our friends for our annual outing to the pumpkin patch. It was disappointingly warm this year, we had to use our imaginations to get into the fall seasons. A pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks always helps!

Elliot's pick from the pumpkin patch.

Two beeeeeautiful little girls in a field of flowers...

The Barrel Train...

This year they had a new rule, if you are five or under an adult must ride with you...see that LITTLE spot behind Audra, ya, that's where mom got to sit!

Of course we got to go on a hay ride too, but the very best part was seeing our buddies. Thanks for the good time guys!

Wildflower Center

This weekend we went to the Wildflower Center. It's really close to our house, maybe ten minutes away. Even thought it's not wildflower season here in Texas, it is still a beautiful place. There is even a kids room for exploring and doing crafts as well as a kids garden. In December they even put up lights and luminaries and have live music in the evening so you can come and enjoy the garden in the evening all lite up.

Dag, dag, dag.....

Elliot is in love with dogs. When we got back from our trip Bailey was still in San Antonio being dog sat. Newt went and brought him home a couple days after we were here. When Elliot first saw him she was in her crib and I had opened the door to get her up from her nap. Bailey came charging in the room to say hello. She had no idea she had a dog of her very own. She got so excited she almost hyperventilated and passed out. She kept slapping her leg (dog in sign language) and saying dag dag dag dag (dog in Elliot language). So we have a very nice yellow Lab that lives next door to us. Elliot has been making friends with him. She feeds him treats through the fence knot holes. We've never actually met the WHOLE dog, we just see his nose, tongue, and eye when he tries to look at us through the knot hole. This dog will be very sad when his little friend moves some day.

Big Girl...Little Slide....

Elliot has learned to slide all by herself. She would do this all day long if you would let her. What a big girl.

Good times...bad times....

So I realized that all you folks ever see on this here little blog is smiley, happy kids. All good times, well behaved, fun, pretty faces. Well today I bring you the "other side". The very real, "we're not having a good day today" side. It happens, oh does it happen.

Today we went to the doctor's office for check ups and shots. Both girls had appointments so the whole family went. Audra left the office with SEVEN band aids. She got four shots, two in each leg, however on the way in to the doctor' s office she tripped and fell and skinned up her knee and hands pretty good. Lucky we had trained professionals near by to take care of our boo boos. Elliot also got a few shots. Everyone is healthy and right on track.

The up side to days like this is they always end, and tomorrow we get a fresh start, hopefully one with less band aids!
