The long road home...

Moving day in Austin, Texas.... it was HOT people...102 degrees!

Did I mention it was hot?

The girls headed out of Austin last Wednesday at 6:00 am followed by the two Newts later that afternoon each driving a moving truck.

As if the weather forecast for Austin that day of 103 degrees wasn't inspiration enough to make us drive, drive, drive....I had to get out my free coffee coupon at my favorite coffee shop in Walla Walla to inspire me to drive faster.

Nap time in the car...after three days it just isn't the same as in your comfy bed.

We played with LOTS of stickers...

we watched lots of shows.....

and I learned that my mother's foot is made of lead!

We arrived safe and sound in Walla Walla Friday evening at around 6:00 pm.

So happy to be home, so happy to get to play at Grandma's house.

The boys rolled into town the next day.

Now for some house hunting...

Adios Tejas....

For the past 11 years we have lived deep in the heart of Texas...and today the moving trucks are coming....
we will remember to "lift with our knees" as we load....

and pack up to hit the trail and start the long drive home tomorrow.

Texas has meant alot to us over the past 11 years. It has meant:

1. Growing up together

2. Our two daughters entering this world

3. Friends like the Carlsons, Simpsons, Jo and Scott, Pepper and Chris, and so many more that all hold a little piece of our hearts

4. Getting to know a family that had only met me twice when we got married

5. My educational experience

Texas has also meant:

1. Heat stroke

2. Sweaty arm pits nine months out of the year

3. Driving 8 hours JUST to get out of the state

4. Scorpions

5. Months and years without seeing beloved family members and friends

Am I glad we came....yes. Am I glad we are leaving....YES.

Let the journey begin.....

Wedding Weekend....

This pretty lady....

married this silly boy this weekend.

There were flower girl sisters...

who took their job VERY seriously.

And I got to strap on my high heeled shoes, suck it in, zip it up and walk down the aisle with this handsome young man sporting a rock'n fauxhawk!

We rehearsed, ate lots of yummy meals, hung out at Uncle Flint's awsome house, and spent some quality family time together. Stay tuned, pictures of the big day to come....

The pool...

We've been working hard around here getting ready for the big wedding and the long move...
but everyone needs a break from all that from time to time...

so we've been hit'n the pool for some relaxing and refreshing.

The performance....

This is the video I took of Audra's dance that she did with her class for her recital during dress rehersal. They didn't allow flash photography or video cameras in the auditorium during the big show, they of course were selling a "professional" video that was being produced later. She is the smallest one, second from the left. The video is not so great, but enjoy the show!

Ride...

The family that scooters together....stays together.So Newtie got a scooter for his birthday this year...
just so he can try and keep up with is four year old.

He and Audra went out together on a ride to the mail box the other day....

a seven year old neighbor girl saw him and said, "hey dude...cool scooter."

Audra's dad is so cool.

You know it's killing Elliot to have to be pushed along on her trike by mom that she still has to grow into...all in time kiddo.

It was a good day, a good ride.
