On the move....

So the Zanes family is moving north.....okay we're just going up to Austin, but that is technically NORTH!! This is movement in a positive direction! We put our house on the market last Wednesday and got an offer the following Monday. We will be headed out by June 18th. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. This house has SOOOOO many special memories for us. We brought both our babies home to this house, had many special Easters, Christmas, and birthday parties here. Lots of people have passed through these doors and helped make this house our home.

So here is a recipe for a happy day: Take two silly girls, add a couple tupperware bowls, a generous portion of water and a warm, sunshiny day! The girls had so much fun today splish splashing in the courtyard. We did start out with two fully clothed girls, by the time we went inside we had two naked little girls!

She's One Year Old!!!

Our baby girl is one....we have left over cake in the fridge to prove it!! We had a great time celebrating with friends and family. Elliot was a little intimidated by the icing on the cake, she found it to be getting in the way of some tasty cake eating. We sliced off a piece of cake and she gobbled that right down. Bailey, the dutiful dog that he is, assisted in baby clean up. So that's it for babies at our house, just big girls live here now.

It was the perfect afternoon for a Zanes car wash. The girls were of course a HUGE help to dad. Audra was a little confused when her dad told her to wash the wheel, but said she was doing it wrong by washing the black part, the TIRE.... this lead to a lecture about how there is the WHEEL, the shiny part.....blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I think Audra checked out somewhere in there and was just imagining what shoes she should wear with her pink dancing dress. Elliot was just happy to sit and splash in the water. And mom, well, she has a shiny, clean chariot to drive her babies around town in.

Easter

The Easter bunny made an appearance at our house this year. As you can see, we had a few friends over to help us find all the goodies the Easter bunny left behind in our back yard. Elliot wasn't quite sure why all the kids were eating plastic eggs, Audra and her friend Gracie would "share" their eggs, trading eggs back and forth between their baskets, making sure they all had some. Very sweet little girls they are. It was a lovely day, filled with friends, good food and lots of memories.

Spring has sprung!

So it's spring in south Texas, the leaves are starting to fall (weird, I know) the grass is getting green and we have already had 90 degree weather. All this means it's time to pull the little red wagon out of the garage and cruise the neighborhood. These girls can stop traffic...literally! Sweet old ladies driving by have been known to stop and comment on what adorable daughters I have. Of course, the are correct in their observation. And this day was no exception as we strolled down the sidewalk with two cuties making each other laugh. As Audra would say, "Do I crack you up mommy...I crack myself up!!!!"
