The older the girls get, the more fun this is. We decorated the house for Christmas this weekend. The girls have a little tree that has twinkly lights and they decorated it themselves (with a little help from mom). Audra put things like candy cane ornaments, jingle bells, her jelly fish stuffed animal, a bracelet, candy ornaments, a birdie, an angel dolly, a teddy bear stuffed animal, and a ring on the tree. It's funny, with all the Christmas ornaments we have at this house, Audra wanted to put HER things on the tree, things that are her special everyday loved little treasures, not the " only see once a year, pretty, careful, don't break it, all boxed up in the garage" ornaments. Elliot just tried to obey her sister's repeated commands of, "do NOT take the ornaments OFF the tree Elliot!!" It looks festive and bright, so come on over, we'll light a fire (and maybe turn the AC on) brew some coffee and listen to some Christmas tunes.
